Rev. Dr. Ashley Morris Founder/CEO
Ashley a native of Hinesville, GA, holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership and a Master of Arts in English from Georgia Southern University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Education from Mercer University. She has also earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

Throughout her career, Ashley has been recognized for her leadership and impact. In 2017, she was named one of Southwest Georgia’s 40 under 40. From 2009 to 2013, Ashley served as the Pastor of St. James AME Church in Jones, GA. Currently, she serves as an Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, preaching and teaching in churches throughout the Southeast.

As a devoted mother to Isabella and Ashton, Ashley's passion lies in guiding individuals on their journey of growth and development. At The Center Ministries, Ashley serves as a community leader and authentic leader, dedicated to helping people become their best selves.
​
Describing her role, Ashley says, “I am a cheerleader, point of connection, resource provider, mentor, warrior, infuser, public servant, motivational speaker, and strategic consultant. No matter the arena, I remind people of the beauty of their journey and teach them how to achieve the outcomes they desire.”

Through her multifaceted approach to leadership and mentorship, Ashley empowers individuals to embrace their potential, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals. Her commitment to serving others and fostering personal growth makes her an invaluable asset to The Center Ministries and the communities it serves.
Ms. Shanda Johnson, Volunteer COO & President, Board of Directors
Shanda a native of Hinesville, GA, holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University. With 24 years of experience in education, she has taught grades K-5, served as an academic coach for grades 3-5, worked as an early intervention teacher for struggling learners, and served as a co-lab teacher (combining Special Education, General Education, and Gifted students).

As a dedicated leader within The Center Ministries, Shanda has fully embraced the organization's vision and mission. She believes in the power of faith and perseverance, trusting that with God's guidance, anything is possible. Shanda finds joy in spending quality time with her 24-year-old daughter and 22-year-old son.
Reflecting on her journey, Shanda emphasizes the importance of resilience and faith during challenging times. She believes that even in the darkest moments, God works wonders, illuminating paths to new beginnings and opportunities.

Ms. Kimberly Stevens, Advocacy Board Member
Kimberly, a native of Selma, AL, has called Hinesville, GA, home for much of her life, shaped by her family's military journey. Her academic journey led her to Columbus State University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Furthering her education, Kimberly pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration from South University and obtained graduate certificate degrees in Diversity Studies and Contemporary Theory in Mental Health Services from Capella University. Her commitment to professional development also led her to become a certified Substance Abuse Counselor through Mercer University.

With a diverse background, Kimberly brings extensive experience to her role at The Center Ministries. She spent 4 1/2 years in the banking sector before dedicating over 14 years to various roles in the Juvenile Justice System. From probation officer to Juvenile Program Manager and Regional Volunteer Coordinator, Kimberly's career has been marked by a dedication to serving her community. She is certified as a POST Adjunct Senior Instructor, Master Resiliency Trainer, State of GA Peer Counselor, and Field Training Officer (FTO).

Outside of her professional endeavors, Kimberly is deeply involved in her community. She serves on the Finance Committee at Pleasant Grove A.M.E Church and advocates for breast cancer awareness and juvenile justice reform. Kimberly's mentorship, public speaking engagements, and leadership roles within various organizations highlight her commitment to serving others, rooted in her faith and values.

Ms. Cindy Leader, Philanthropy & Investment Board Member
Cindy a resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is a devoted mother to three adult children. She holds a degree in Economics and pursued further studies with a post-baccalaureate in Education. Cindy's professional journey began in sales, but her passion for entrepreneurship and lifelong learning led her to transition into full-time motherhood.

Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Cindy ventured into freelancing as an editor and later delved into the world of economic trading. Today, she serves as the CEO and primary educator of Lattes & More Trading, LLC, a business she founded in the realm of FOREX trading.

Cindy is deeply committed to supporting the work of The Center Ministries. Her expertise in economics and entrepreneurship provides valuable insights that propel the organization forward. Cindy's dedication to lifelong learning and her entrepreneurial endeavors align with The Center's mission of empowerment and community development. Through her support and contributions, Cindy plays an integral role in advancing the goals and impact of The Center Ministries.
Ms. Daa' iyah Salaam, Board Consultant
Daa'iyah a native of Albany, GA, brings a wealth of expertise to The Center Ministries as a board consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Africana Studies from Georgia Southern University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Albany State University. Daaiyah furthered her education by obtaining a master's degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Community and Economic Development.

With a passion for community revitalization, Daaiyah has dedicated her career to serving various organizations and initiatives. She has worked with the National Parks at the New River Gorge National River, focusing on Cultural Resources, and served as an academic consultant to the College of Business at Albany State University. Daaiyah has also held leadership positions, including Deputy Director for the SW GA Project, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to community development.

In her role as a board consultant, Daaiyah provides valuable insights and guidance for strategic planning and sustainability efforts at The Center Ministries. Her experience as a certified business counselor with S.C.O.R.E. equips her to assist both non-profit and for-profit businesses in achieving sustainability and growth.

Daaiyah is a proud mother of four children and believes strongly in investing in communities by empowering their people. Through her expertise and commitment, Daaiyah contributes to The Center Ministries' mission of empowerment and community development, ensuring its continued impact and success.
